Workforce Modernization
Envoy's Fair Chance Employment team helps companies recruit, hire, and retain candidates with barriers to the workforce. These barriers can take many shapes, from lacking exposure and access to career paths to managing challenges like childcare, transportation, and job readiness.
Our workforce modernization projects have helped employers engage and support young workers, workers in recovery and workers living in poverty and unstable housing. We believe Fair Chance employment means enabling qualified jobseekers to overcome the front-end obstacles of the hiring process and ensuring they can succeed and grow as employees. By working with the employer community on recruitment, partnership building, internal practices, and retention strategies, we help them adapt to the changing talent landscape and ensure their career opportunities are broadly accessible.
Case Studies
SHRM Foundation, Opportunity Youth @ Work
Engagement: Envoy is working with the SHRM Foundation to help employers across the U.S. engage, hire and support young workers. By helping lead and manage SHRM Foundation's Opportunity Youth @ Work Initiative, Envoy is creating guidance for HR leaders on recruitment and hiring strategy to make their workplaces accessible to candidates who are new to the workforce and face barriers to entry.
Results: As part of the project, Envoy has worked with a broad range of organizations, companies and SHRM chapters to build awareness, establish pilot projects, and create guidance for the SHRM network on best practices for successfully hiring and employing young workers.
National Marine Manufacturing Association (NMMA)
Engagement: Envoy supported NMMA's workforce development strategy, helping expand access to jobs in the marine industry to new categories of workers. This included supporting communications strategy and planning for industry-wide infrastructure to recruit and train new workers.
Results: Envoy developed a workforce development plan for the NMMA board and national chapters and engaged with individual member companies of workforce strategy.
