Case Study: Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
Envoy began is partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) consulting with one grantee, helping the organization design a sustainable path forward. Over the course of a year, our team worked with this University-based nonprofit to update its organizational structure and develop new revenue strategies.

Based on the success of this first engagement, we collaborated with RWJF to design a cohort-based program including four additional grantees, where they could collaboratively explore new pathways to sustainability, and work one-on-one with our team to design pilots and strategies to help adapt to changing conditions and diversify their revenue.

In 2026, we launched a second cohort of five more organizations, leading a similar shared learning model and creating an intentional network across these ten grantees to continue their dialogue and collaboration. This network has been particularly useful as the grantees have addressed similar challenges with fundraising, data availability, and operating models. The cohort sessions and relationships with their peers have provided valuable insights and guidance to help the organizations adapt.
