Justice-impacted job seekers are often able to gain work experience while incarcerated.
Job seekers will use filters on sites like Linkedin to find organizations with commitments to fair chance hiring.
Sites like Conconnect offer resources for job seekers and employers to better navigate the fair chance hiring process.
As fair chance employers, it is essential to understand the process that justice-impacted job seekers go through while seeking employment.
The Center for Employment Opportunities (CEO) revealed its Linkedin Learning course focusing on job seeking with a criminal record last month. CEO’s Genevive Rimer leads the course in discussing the different resources and strategies the formerly incarcerated use to improve their chances of finding employment. The programs share resources that while useful to job seekers can also help employers to understand and reach out to these justice-impacted job seekers and connect them to proper resources for employment.
